Healthier Without Wheat

We are what we eat, and these days it is very difficult to know what we are eating. However it is even more important that we know we are what we digest, and so many people are struggling with health issues because their digestive systems are no longer functioning the way they should function, and much of that can be laid at the door of wheat and gluten intolerance leading to Celiac disease. This can be hard for doctors to diagnose mainly because the symptoms are different in each one, as we react differently to the allergen. The problem often runs in families, and can manifest itself in completely unrelated illness, and yet if you correct the underlying problem, the other illness is often totally healed.

“Don’t own the book, but I’ve met the doctor”

I saw Dr. Stephen Wangen at a seminar in the South Seattle area recently. He made an appearance at a local library. Both my Mom and I are non-celiac gluten intolerant, which was covered in great detail at the seminar.Dr. Wangen did an amazing…Read more

“Just because you were told you do not have Celiac Disease doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t still VERY SICK”

Not all doctors understand how to properly diagnose gluten intolerance. I have been gluten intolerant for years without knowing it. One doctor tested me for celiac disease, and when the test came back negative, he told me I was fine and could eat gluten…Read more

“Excellent!!!”

I was lucky to find this book at the library. It was so much better than other books I’ve come across on similar topics, that I wanted to buy it. I have self-diagnosed myself with the problems mentioned in the book. I feel like a new person, with…Read more

Feeling well and full of energy, as opposed to being full of aches and pains and barely being able to drag oneself through life. It seems to me to be a choice, try and eliminate the grains, and see what happens, you can substitute potatoes and rice instead of bread and cereal. But if you do so, then watch all the ingredients you are eating, as often they can be an added ingredient in something you wouldn’t necessarily think of as a carbohydrate product. Look for the gluten free sign. I know gluten free products are very expensive, but if you don’t eat processed foods, then you will know what you are eating. It is a choice. I struggle with this, but not to a degree at this moment in time where I am ill with it, but the you tube video tells me that it can be progressive, so whilst before I thought I had done enough to change my diet, I now realize I must go away and rethink everything again, and make the changes, or suffer the consequences.
